We propose a new user-friendly motif search tool called Melina, which helps you to determine and extract a set of common motifs shared by functionally-related DNA sequences. Melina is composed of several published programs such as CONSENSUS, GIBBS DNA, MEME and Coresearch, which are considered to be the most progressive motif search algorithms nowdays. Each of included algorythms is supplied with a set of parameters, whose optimal values should be chosen depend on the dataset characterstics and search purpose. Melina can be successfully applied to about 100 promoter sequences of 1000nt long.
